{ Travel Diary } Day I in Marrakech

I have officially found my happy place, and it is Marrakech, Morocco ~ the sumptuous city of my dreams. From the arid Agafay desert at its outskirts to the opulent ryads within the médina, it’s a place teaming with culture and elegance and unfathomable amounts of inspiration. I’ve had the great pleasure of visiting this North African oasis this week with my close friend and collaborator Jamie Beck, and because I can’t yet find words for the wonder of this scintillating setting, I’ll let her images speak for themselves. These pictures were taken just before leaving New York ~ and the colors seem downright drab in comparison to what I’m experiencing (and wearing!) here in Morocco. I don’t know about you, but I buy beauty supplies as much for their pretty packaging as for their functionality. That’s why I was so intrigued when Schick Intuition asked if I’d like to design this year’s limited edition Naturals handle ~ it was previously impossible to find a razor that looked as pretty as my other primping products! Le Love, the Art Nouveau-inspired design I came up with (above) has finally arrived in shops, and I’m so pleased with the way it turned out. Keep an eye out for it in drugstores all over the world!

Chief among these is 7FAM‘s endowment of Rebel, an exhibition opening May 15th at MOCA. Conceived by James Franco (who also shot 7′s upcoming ad campaign), it’s an ode to the 1955 film Rebel Without a Cause, as communicated through film, video installation, photography, painting, drawing, and sculpture. For my part, I’ll be showing you some cool art (like this oversized, overturned Two Dollar Uumbrella by Joshua Callaghan) alongside some of my favorite 7FAM styles. |ABOVE| Untitled by Rathin Barman

As FLIRT!’s Style Ambassador, I’m happy to be entrusted with the fun task of dreaming up exciting ways to meld the brand’s lighthearted, girly offerings with my own fanciful fashion obsessions ~ but the two came together better than even I could’ve envisioned with the launch of FLIRT!’s newest fragrance, Kittenesque. I mean, the bottle alone matches half my wardrobe!The perfume itself is perfect for summer, with hits of orange blossom and raspberry, blended with a cooling vanilla hint. I’ve given it to all my girlfriends ~ each of whom has separately confessed to me that they’ve been wearing it nearly every day! Obviously, we’ve all got that in common.

|WEARING| vintage sunnies (last worn with my Texas Tuxedo), White + Warren coat (also HERE), Elie Tahari shirt, LL Bean Signature belt, Joe Fresh jeans (recently seen HERE and HERE), Corello bag (my sister borrowed it HERE), gifted Timo Weiland for Tsubo shoes I wore this outfit for work all day Monday ~ but for evening, I kept the jeans and swapped out the top & shoes, transforming it into THIS. I have to admit I was a little bummed that I had, as I met the delightful Timo Weiland (who designed these shoes) at that night’s dinner, and had only photos to prove I’d been rocking his kicks all day long! Oh well, make a blog post; it’ll last longer, eh?I wear these jeans a LOT, and people always ask me where they can get them.
