Checking Out: Maderas Village

11th September, 2015

First we checked in at Tribal Hotel, then we totally  checked out at Maderas Village. Fashioned as a year-round summer camp for imaginative grownups, it’s been expressly designed for that purpose.

With great intention, the ragtag band of poetic pirates who run this place have crafted it into an idyllic boutique retreat for thinkers and doers (and all of their colorful cronies). It’s not easy to get to, and thus the only people there are those who know to seek it out ~ an elite but über-relaxed community of characters and creatives.

Community is a key word here, where the amenities are simple, the meals are shared, and the only expectation is that everyone underneath its palm leaf ceilings spread good vibes and big ideas. It’s the perfect pilgrimage for anyone looking to unplug and unwind, to commune with the natural world, to record an album, tackle a big artistic project or simply clear and renew the mind before heading into the next. Everything here has been engineered to ensure that all you really need to think about is what you really need to think about.

My favorite moments of our summer adventure diary were filmed at and around Maderas Village ~ if you haven’t watched it already, click play below to get in on the ultimate summer fun!

For more proof that Maderas Village is where it’s at, make sure to follow their epic pack of jungle babes (Rochelle! Nicki! Erica! and Allison! oh my!) on Instagram. They’re sure to have you booking a plane ticket and a 4-wheeler faster than you ever thought possible.

Loving all your coverage of Nicaragua, mainly because that’s where my family is from and I just get all sorts of nostalgia! Haven’t been since I was 7 years old!

BTW, I love your video, so freaking amazing!
