I’ve always had a serious soft spot for cool sunglasses, and have quite possibly collected hundreds of them over the past decade ~ from sculptural butterfly-shaped shades to a preposterous pair formed from two pink flamingos. Lately, I’m falling for really subtly extreme versions of classic motifs ~ silhouettes that at first look familiar but upon closer inspection reveal themselves to be rather outrageous. Coco + Breezy’s two simplest styles are right where my head’s at. Their Prams (above) are your classic oversized round lens, updated with super thick sides, and the Sea Stars (my favorite!) are the most wonderfully cartoonish cat eyes (see bottom two images). They’ll be available end of March, and I’m anxiously waiting to put in an order for each!
Just as my adoration for eyewear has been long-documented, so have my jewelry predilections been ardently and publicly ensconced in all things gold. I don’t wear silver myself but I loooooove it on others. It’s very rock n’ roll, and trust me, I tried to be that girl (one of many ill-advised fashion phases), but the shoe didn’t fit. I adore when girls with milky skin and dark, dark brown hair (like Pamela Love, Liz Giardina or Adele Thibodeaux, the babe in these images) are all loaded up in oversized silver pieces, or when The Glamourai muses like Gloria Noto or Chelsea Leyland drench themselves in it. Like the ladies of Anndra Neen, Natalie Frigo really designs in silver well, and the pieces of hers that I pulled for this week’s fashion story really stood out on set. |CLOTHING| by 10 Crosby Derek Lam |EYEWEAR| by Coco + Breezy |JEWELRY| by Natalie Frigo
