ON A QUEST for knowledge and inspiration, I absorbed all that I possibly could while traveling around Asia. From the grand palaces of Beijing to the ruined temples of Cambodia, the succulent street food in Thailand to my wholehearted adoption of the Vietnamese locals’ pajama-based way of dress, each experience shifted my perspective and adjusted my eye. Now I’m back home, trying to factor pj’s into my busy New York City working life and then padding around Amagansett in them on the weekends, steadily redecorating that house. Visions of printed separates and intricately carved furniture dance in my head!|CLOCKWISE FROM ABOVE LEFT| West Elm cooking utensils ($12 each), Piamita pajama pants ($114 ~ happily, there’s also a matching top!), Cambodian Buddha head ($58), Equipment polka dot pajamas ($388), Powell oriental console ($389), porcelain planter ($148) I have only recently discovered Piamita pajamas, but have fallen for them hard and fast. Founded in May 2011 by Cecilia de Sola and Karla Martinez, they are making the pj’s of my dreams: designed to be mixed and matched, they’re yummy and comfy for home, but chic enough for the streets. I’m enamored! |ABOVE FROM LEFT| 1. Geoprint top ($276) and bottom ($285) 2. Isabella top and bottom 3. Amorsitos top and bottom 4. Navy printed top and bottom 5.
