{ Haider Meets Hippie }

HippieHaider1Over tea last week, a girlfriend of mine described this look as ‘Haider meets hippie’ ~ and I think it’s actually a pretty good way to characterize my overall stylistic tendencies, especially this season. I’ve always been attracted to and collected really special, handmade treasures (like this great bag from Bali), but I’m also the girl who’s most comfortable in an excellently tailored silk button-down (like this Haider Ackerman blouse). So at ease, in fact, that I’ve probably worn this head-to-toe getup at least eight times in the last two weeks. Too much?HippieHaider2Really, it’s all about looking for integrity, functionality, and comfort in what I buy. This is a top I’ll be able to wear for years, from the boardroom to the beach. And this bag not only fits my whole life (including laptop, headphones, a swimsuit, iPad, and other assorted summertime sundry), but evokes great memories from this adventure and inspires me daily with its heartwarmingly imperfect handwork.HippieHaider3Though the heat has finally set in, the weather stayed cool much longer than usual this year, so I’ve been getting an absurd amount of wear out of this vintage jacket. It reminds me just how crucial a leather jacket can be ~ as I mentioned HERE, they just get better with age!HippieHaider4Variations of this oft-repeated look have frequently included these shoes, and I’ll probably continue to rework it all summer long, leaving the jacket at home and subbing out the jeans for these shorts. When you find something that really works for you, why mess with it?!HippieHaider5|WEARING| Warby Parker sunnies (also seen HERE), vintage jacket (recently worn HERE), Haider Ackerman blouse, vintage belt, Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply jeans, bag from my trip to Bali, Maison Martin Margiela bootsHippieHaider6|PHOTOS| by Austin Phelps
