During a shoot, I am totally focused ~ I can’t miss a stray hair or an less-than-perfectly-wilted petal, anything that could tarnish an otherwise ideal shot. I feel it’s my duty to acutely observe everything, which ironically puts me so ‘in the zone’ that I forget whatever else is happening around me. The emotional experience of that sort of single-mindedness is comically communicated in the following absurdist time warp video, filmed without my knowledge during the shooting of ‘Girl, Interrupted’ ~ it was such a fun surprise when I finally found out (a day and a half in!). My only regret is that I don’t have similar footage of the 3 nights I spent crafting those kooky custom crowns ~ now THAT was a weird creative rabbit hole, turning dried seed pods into topiary till the wee hours of the morning… Speaking of time lapse videos, have you downloaded the Vine app yet (supposedly the next best thing in social media)? I just joined yesterday (look for Kelly Framel) and am excited to find ways to get creative with it.
