Being on set for a photoshoot is when I’m the happiest in my life. The collision of creative collaboration and the reward of witnessing a concept that has floated for so long in my head become a reality before my eyes ~ it’s intoxicating and I do a lot of ecstatic screaming. But that euphoric happiness is hard-earned, as the prep work involved in putting a shoot together is no joke. It is time-consuming and quite physically taxing. For the past week I’ve been extremely under the weather, and got booked at the last minute on a massive location project. This meant that for three days I was running all over the city, on no sleep, trying to find everything I needed, while slowed down by a raging cold. It was rough, but I didn’t have time to whine; I just had to be comfortably bundled up and on the move. And man, was it worth it! We shot over the weekend on an estate in upstate New York, and everything came together so beautifully that it actually moved me to tears. You know you love your job when it breaks your heart. I really can’t wait to be able to share this one with you.
