When planning accessories for our Swim Week shoot, I had in mind some sort of graphic, gilded bangles ~ something a little Valley Of The Dolls, really obnoxiously unnecessary poolside accessorization. And when I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, I decided to do-it-myself (as inspired by THIS!). I started with a bevy of vintage bracelets that had seen much better days…
…and a skinny roll of gold metal tape (it’s only $8, and I’m sure you have the bracelets already).
Cut the tape into roughly 5″ strips, and began wrapping them around the first ratty old bangle (any ratty old bangles will do!).
Keep cutting and wrapping, cutting and wrapping, until your ratty old bangle is glimmering like a gold medal, all its surfaces recovered. Don’t worry about keeping things too neat, a bit of texture is what makes this look so great.
Repeat on another….
…and another, until you’ve got a wrist full of liquid gold!
