{ Metamorphose }

While I love my apartment ~ it serves me well as both a base camp and an oasis ~ lately I’ve been thinking it’s time to let it evolve a bit. I’ve been simplifying a lot, getting rid of big furniture and just shedding old energies. I’m ready for a touch more color and a few new natural elements. Here is an accumulation of references (pulled mostly from Desire to Inspire and Architectural Digest) that are sloshing around in my imagination right now:

  • Asia Carter

    Nice modern and colorful inspiration! You should totally set up a Shop Post of what you’re getting rid of, though…there would be many eager to take home a bit of your previous inspirations.

    These are all beautiful! I styled my room after yours actually – I’ve got a black and white scheme going on….but I have a few pops of color that add variation to the room! Good luck redecorating!!

    The playboy art gives so much fun and life to your apartment. I hope that’s an element that you’ll keep!

    I think the best way to revamp your place is to bring in one major new modern piece and add some cool retro accessories…then of course, always move furniture around.
    You’ll be surprised how much of your own stuff you actually like when you give it a new supporting cast ;)
    Good luck…I know how exhausting and overwhelming it can be just to even pick a theme, feel, color, style…but you’ll get there and when you do, you’ll LOVE it ;)
    XOXO

    I love the mixture between the blue and the black and white modern pieces. It’s beautiful! And I’m sold on anything lucite! http://www.akeenesenseofstyle.com

    Per. Fect. Ion. There’s just no other way to describe the graphic black and white juxtaposed with the bold colors, art, fixtures & furniture. What great way to balance the two. love it.

    I love colourful rooms. I’m not much into the minimalist, everything white kind of thing. To me it’s too sterile to be relaxing, colour gives everything more life. I just painted my wall a granny smith apple green colour, and I love it.

    That last image has completely inspired me – I love that the fireplace ledge turns into bench with a throw rug and cushions. My partner and I are looking to do something like that with our home, so I’m loving this new take.

    Your apartment is stunning. Your taste eclectic and so on point. The only thing that I see is that you could less rugs or thinner rugs. I think that too much carpets or rugs create a stuffy room. Just my two cents, can hardly wait to see what you come up with. It’s going to be great, I’m sure.
