This season, I had the immense privilege of being asked to style BCBG‘s Resort 2013 presentation ~ and I had a total blast with the project! I’ve admired BCBG designer Lubov Azria for years, and having this chance to get to know and work with her, observe her process and learn from her years of experience was a genuine honor. For me, the best part of this gig was the opportunity to be mentored by someone so talented, intelligent, and successful. The female role models I’ve gotten to know over the years are my biggest source of inspiration!I love that BCBG makes such consistently cool, wearable clothes ~ so in styling the collection I really focused on the ways I’d interpret the pieces in my everyday life. This translated into tailored pants paired with loosely fitted tops, miniskirts worn casually with flats, and blazers shrugged insouciantly over the shoulders. My favorite looks were finished with cool clutches or crisp crossbody bags, as I like to travel light from day to night.Creative people thrive on constant stimuli, we must see and touch and talk and experience things in order to inform and evolve our work. In that sense, I think it’s wonderful that brands have begun to embrace the creative community flourishing online. It’s a great way to cross-pollinate inspiration and I think it adds to the excitement and energy of the fashion scene, as we begin to tell stories, share ideas and communicate in new ways. |3 ABOVE + 2 BELOW| Scenes from the final presentation. To check out more of the BCBG Resort 2013 collection, click HERE!
