Champagne Tastes

16th March, 2012

On Wednesday evening, I shared a truly special experience with three of my very best friends and favorite creative collaborators: Jamie Beck, her fiancé Kevin Burg (the three of us recently worked on THIS and THIS together) and Mat Sanders (he and I teamed up to create THIS).We all met at Penn Station and boarded a train to Philadelphia, where we were picked up by a vintage trolley car and whisked off to a boat for an exquisite dinner party hosted by Veuve Clicquot.The occasion marked the 230th anniversary of the first-ever arrival of their champagnes into the US, when they were originally delivered through the very harbor where we dined.In honor of this milestone, Veuve Clicquot sommeliers brought over 3 of their private cellar champagnes ~ one of which had never before been opened in America ~ and each was more delightful than the last!It was a delicious evening in every way ~ a dash of adventure, seeped in the finest wines and enjoyed with the dearest of friends.{ pictures by Jamie Beck (you MUST click over to her site to see more from the night!) // Jamie wore a vintage dress with Miu Miu shoes // I wore vintage earrings, The Row sunnies, a Tibi dress, David Yurman pearl + diamond ring, Camille Zarsky clutch and YSL wedges }

    the quality of photos that Jamie takes are A+++ i just wish i had her camera, love the yellow sunies, and i have to ask..are those wedges painful? coz they are too pretty but seem a little bit high 🙂
    have and awesome weekend!

  • Oh my lord, I love Veuve Clicquot. It is my favorite brand of champagne – my mom instilled the tradition in me when I turned 16. Together we have always popped a bottle of Veuve Clicquot for many occasions since. I have thus far tried the Rose and the Yellow label, but I am going to get my hands on the Grande Dames as well.

    I am so jealous, but thank you so much for sharing. It looks like an absolutely beautiful evening of friends and champagne.

  • My boyfriend and I are avid Veuve Clicquot fans, so this post made my day. I can’t even begin to describe how extremely jealous I am that you were invited to such an exclusive event, hosted by my favorite champagne!!! I can only imagine how beautiful the champagne tasted…we recently enjoyed a vintage bottle of Veuve from 1998 and it was exquisite. 🙂
