{ hi/lo }

thanks to aimee‘s blog, i recently became aware of style at home‘s high/low feature, in which the same room is decorated in nearly-identical ways, once with and once without a real-world budget. if the rooms above weren’t labeled, would you automatically know which is the high-cost and which is the low? it’s a fascinating reminder that good design can come at any price ~ all you have to do is focus on a goal and be determined to find affordable solutions. they’re out there!

    SO TRUE, I've found so many wonderful items/ pieces of furniture at thrift stores for a fraction of 'expensive' decor. I love it!

    I love how I had to glance more than twice to see the differences. Nothing beats the content one feels when decorating a place at designer level but with affordable items.

    I love high low projects, they are something that gives everyone a realization about what they want in their home doesn't have to cost a fortune. I love all of these photos, you really can't tell the difference, it's incredible. I would love it if you checked out my blog, I have interesting fashion posts.

    I so did this with my apartment. I went through the Fashionable Life section in Harper's Bazaar and went to find cheaper replicas or similar pieces.

    Killer interiors. The first is my favorite. Absolutely can't tell that one is high and one is low. Perfection.

    If they didn't say which one was high/low I couldn't tell them apart..

    The first thing that I thought while scrolling down was:"Why do they show the less effective copy of each room underneath?" Second, I had no idea why there are words "high" and "low" written on the pictures. So, yeah I notice the difference right away and I prefer the high ones. Not because they're more expensive, I just don't like some items that are used in the low budgets' rooms. They look cheaper right away in compare to the ones used in high budgets' rooms. It doesn't mean that "low" rooms aren't pretty. I'd change few things and they'd be perfect but in comparison they look mehh… right away to me and I can't help it:) Maybe because I have a very bad habit of running right away into the expensive, nice looking, and with good quality items in the store without even knowing that they are expensive. I have a hard time finding a fairly big but not huge every day purse that doesn't look cheap or costs $100 dollars so I have only few of them.
