{ bench post }

my entryway is sadly lacking in a little spot to plop down and take my shoes off after a nasty nyc excursion. at least daily, i swear i’ll finally buy a bench for that area. here are my top twelve contenders ~ let me know which one you love the most!!

{ above, top row: west elm random base side table, lamps plus x-frame ottoman, gold garden stool via ebay // above, bottom row: high fashion home hexagonal table, high fashion home twig table, lamps plus chrome cone ottoman }

{ above, top row: velvet + gold leaf stool via ebay, high fashion home horn-base table, cb2 contact stool // above, bottom row: silver foiled stool via ebay, lamps plus curved basswood bench, tam tam gold storage stool via ebay }

    In second place I would be all for the curved basswood bench.

    for aesthetics, i love the last gold one, the hourglass. also love the velvet and gold leaf, and the silver horn base.

    in terms of plopping down, if that is indeed the activity, not sure any of these selections would be desired. they seem to weigh more heavily on the form as opposed to function end of the spectrum.

    i am sure, though, you could sit daintily on them and remove your shoes.

    very timely post, i am searching for the same thing right now! my dad is trying to make me an x-bench/ottoman, and i'll upholster the top. i really love either the velvet + gold leaf stool, or the curved basswood bench.

    I like the lamps plus curved basswood bench best. I am in need of a hall bench as well… two in fact. One for sitting and one to act as a base for a gorgeous oversized ornate mirror that found on the curb recently. I love the angle of a mirror that is leaned against the wall, but this one is not quite tall enough on its own.

    Loooove the velvet and gold stool! In fact, I just bought the exact same one myself! But don't spend $600 on it!

    It's by World's Away (http://worlds-away.com/product/x-upholstered-stool-goldbrown-velvet), and the wholesale price is under $300!!

  • Hilary Inspired

    Oh gosh, you have selected so many fantastic options, but for your apartment I would go with the Lamps Plus X-ottoman. Can't wait to see which one you choose!

    I'm loving the hexagonal table! The legs have such an interesting shape.

    my two favs are: the gold garden stool because its cute and shiny or the lamps plus carved basswood bench because it looks slightly more comfortable for shoe removal.

    my vote is for the curved basswood. i know if i had a long day in nyc, that would look the most inviting and welcoming.

    runner up would be the velvet and gold leaf.

    The bronze drum that looks like it's from Africia is awesome for an entryway and the dark brown one that is shapped like a half C looks very greek! Either way these are great choices for your house.

    I love the 'lamps plus curved basswood bench', something about the curves and the warmer wood feel. Also it looks like it would be the most comfortable for putting on and off shoes. I take up a lot of space leaning this way and that!

  • Anonymous

    Some of these are better suited as martini tables. Love the horn one but I have it and it's not soooo great for sitting on. So it you want to "plop" and pull your shoes off and long day then the 2 upholstered pieces are probably best bet. I like the shape of the gold one with brown suede…simple yet stylish.

    I have my favorites, but for you aesthetic, I think the high fashion home hexagonal table or lamps plus curved basswood bench would be awesome. :)

  • Joan Mcgregor..

    I guess I am the only one that loves the Chrome ones..But for ploppind down I think of the x framed ottoman but there is something about the curved basswood bench with one of your faux white furs or a velvet cushion,so many things you could do with that bench..black laquer or gold..gee I could go on and on..

    Velvet + gold leaf stool is a beauty.

    And I'm drawn to the silver foiled finish/seams – but not sure about the line. Could be great though.

    Is it going near that tremendous new shelf and all the mirrors? Hard to know…

    You're so amazing – it'll be a treat to see what you decide.
